Trakker Technologies congratulates Winner of the Seattle International Film Festival 2000 and Slingshot Awardee Very Mean Men for their participation in AFI 2000
    November 1, 2000 (Hermosa Beach, CA) -- Trakker Technologies would like to congratulate Very Mean Men, winner of the Best Editing award at the 2000 Seattle International Film Festival, on their submission and acceptance into AFI Fest 2000.

    Very Mean Men won the "American Indie Editing" award at the Seattle International Film Festival in June. The prize that was awarded to Greg Hobson, editor of Very Mean Men was an editing suite consisting of Slingshot PRO and FAST Multimedia's editing utilities.

    "It is a feat in itself to be accepted into one film festival," explains Robert Mathieu, Director of Technology for Trakker Technologies. "But, Very Mean Men seems to be circulating through the film festivals very well and that is quite an accomplishment."

    Very Mean Men, which won Hobson the grand award and got their acceptance into AFI Fest 2000, is a gangster comedy about a bartender played by Matthew Modine and a drunken customer played by Martin Landau who never leaves a tip. Throughout the movie, the bartender is telling the drunken customer a story about two Mafia families who were at war because one family never left tips. Other actors included Scott Baio, Louise Fletcher, Burt Young and Ben Gazara. Tony Vitale was the director of Very Mean Men.

    Very Mean Men was dubbed in Variety Magazine as a "ŠPost-Tarentino spoof." The editing for this movie, according to Hobson, was very tricky. Since it was two stories in one, there were a lot of strategic edits that Hobson feels is what won him the prized award.
