Trakker Technologies premieres new product as part of "Best Editing" award at Slamdance 2001. |
The 2001 festival marks the fourth year that Trakker has been a sponsoring participant. What makes this year special is that Trakker is providing an award to the winner of "Best Editing" that includes tools for high-definition post-production as well. This expanded product line will be available to the public in the first quarter of 2001. "As the technology progresses, it is exciting to be able to continually evolve our product offerings to meet the demands and needs of all filmmakers," explains Robert Mathieu, Director of Technology for Trakker Technologies. Trakker Technologies will be providing the winner a suite of their most popular products at the combined value of approximately $10,000. The Slingshot product line consists of products that are used to assist in the post-production of movie making. "To be able to continue our relationship with Slamdance and show our support for indie filmmakers," states Barry Silver, President of Trakker Technologies, "is a great honor and we are proud to be part of a festival that truly supports the independent filmmaker." Slamdance started in January 1995, when a group of first-time directors screened their films concurrent with the Sundance Film Festival. Since then, Slamdance has expanded and now includes its own screenplay competition. The "Feature" competition is devoted to films by first-time directors who have made films that do not have domestic distribution or large budgets. Slamdance does not however, have strict "premiere" requirements and welcomes films in any subject matter, length, and, format, including digital and video. Slamdance maintains a dedication to new filmmakers. |
